Canada Jay

Formerly the “gray jay” and often known as “whiskey jack”, this mostly-grey bird is mostly seen while hiking or camping as they prefer higher elevations.

How/where to find

Found in every province and territory, but you’ll want to head up from the coast or Fraser Valley a bit into higher elevations.

You can find the Canada Jay in every province and territory, but especially in higher elevations – like the mountains of the Vancouver North Shore Outpost and Sea To Sky Bird Trail.
